I went to Dover, Delaware for the Nextel Cup Nascar Race last weekend. We stayed in Ocean City Maryland, a little city on the ocean just over the Delaware border. We also visited Chincoteague Island in Virginia. They have an awesome lighthouse there. We also saw wild ponies and other animals. I am also amazed by the power of the ocean!!! I didn't realize how much I love the ocean and it's truly a shame seeing as I am a little more than an hour from Hampton Beach. I need to go more often!!

I'm not much of a Nascar fan but I had a great time at the races. Both the Craftsman Truck Race Friday and the Nextel Cup Race on Sunday were very exciting. I was saddened to have to come home on Tuesday.

 

The hotel room we got was pretty bogus. It was advertised as state of the art, sorry folks, I don't consider dial-up to be state of the art!! I was able to pirate a wireless signal from another. There were numerous other small problems but we really couldn't complain all that much seeing as my neice booked a year ahead and got the room for $44.00 a night!!

 

 

Well, the neighbors are not selling their house, they've reconciled and it appears that they are staying with the house as well as together!!  As I predicted, they got back together!! I warned my gf and stepdaughter to not say anything as I thought there might be a quick reconciliation. Chris said to me after the fact "wow, you nailed that one". I simply replied "people say stupid things out of anger and haste"......

Ok, so we've had this HUGE pile of brush behind the house for almost three years that we've intended to burn. My better half is the pyro so I had left it to her to get the burn permit. Finally saturday we burned that sucker down. We had a bunch of friends over and I RELAXED for the first time in quite awhile. Chris and I ended up being out there alone after midnight and we both were amazed at how peaceful it was. My youngest pup Jake stayed in the yard all night, I was very proud! We put the fire out around 2:00 am and went in, chowed down and passed out!! Awoke today at 1:00 and was amazed that it was still burning!!

We had originally thought it was two years but there were three Christmas trees in the pile!!!

Yesterday I got my laptop from Dell. I am very excited about this !! I even got to christen it witn namin' tunes!!! yesterday was a great day, now I wait for the other shoe to drop..... As far as other things go, I'm pretty much fixated on the lappy so I got nothin' else!!!!

What I'm Doing: After fucking off for the past three to four weeks, I finally got out and accomplished work on my brothers convertible tonight. It felt good when I came in around 10:00 and had met goals set. La ti fucking da!! Gotta get it painted and sorta done by the time I go to Dover Downs, Delaware on June 1st... ahhh vacation, I can't wait!!

 

File this under WTF?? So, in January, we had new neighbors move in to the left of me. Let me set the scene. I live in the fucking boonies folks, on a dirt road. If you look at a satellite pic of my neighborhood, you could see bear!! Anyways, these peeps move in next door in January, a young couple around 27 or 28, and HER mother. They appear to be real cool and do a SHIT load of work to the house. They get a couple really cute puppies and life is good, right?? Um no!! The chick, comes over tonite (the puppies love to come over and play with our dogs....) to retrieve her dog and proceeds to tell me that her basement is FULL of water (we have had Noah type rain here for the past 5 days) and she is trying to empty it. Being a dumb male I decide to ask a simple question: "Where is Steve??" She replies with "That fucking asshole moved out two days ago blah blah blah blah and I gotta sell the house Blah blah blah blah......" I was like whoa!! WTF?? After she left I began to analyze their situation: They bought this house for $250K, had to have her mom co-sign (I never heard of a cosigned mortgage) and have done nothing but buy,buy,buy,buy!! they bought a 26' camper, she bought a ricerocket motorcycle, he bought a dirtbike... I wonder how they will ever get out of the debt they are in??? Its pretty obvious they are pretty fucked. Its kind of a shame too because they would have made great neighbors, they kept their nose outta our business, respected privacy but liked to have fun. I will miss them. Of course they could get back together this weekend, who the fuck knows?? right??

 

Tid bits:

Flood insurance: Why is it not law that if you live anywhere that it "could" flood you must have flood insurance?? Thats all I'm hearing on the news when they do those sappy "talk to Joe Somebody in front of his flooded house" interviews. "I don't know (sobbing pathetically) what I'm gonna do, I don't have flood insurance" They make you pay PMI if you don't put enough $$ down, why the fuck don't they make you carry flood insurance?? I live on top of a hill, the highest point in my neighborhood so I don't have it. My basement is also dry!!

 

I went to my nieces graduation party Saturday night, my whole family (sibs, anyways) were there and we took group pics. I am the youngest, I look the oldest!! I gotta get a compy that excercises for me!!!
